GMDSS CoC (GMDSS Endorsement)
About
The GMDSS CoC is issued by the Mercantile Marine Departments (MMD), D.G Shipping.
Candidates can apply for GMDSS CoC in online mode strictly and there is no provision for applying offline.
The GMDSS CoC/ Endorsement is delivered to candidates only via post and hence, no candidates need to approach MMD directly for the same.
DOCUMENT REQUIREMENT FOR THE GMDSS COC
1. Sea service experience letter from RPSL Company
A minimum of 365 days of sailing experience in the last 5 years from the date of applying and same should be mentioned in the RPSL issued by the crewing company.
RPSL Company, Vessel details, and contract details should be updated in the master checker.
2. Medical fitness (by DG approved doctor)
Self attested scanned copy of Annex 4 and 5 of valid medical certificate issued by a DG Approved Doctor.
Make sure it is updated in the master checker.
3. Current GMDSS CoC
Proper scanned copy of the current valid/ expired GMDSS CoC certificate.
4. GMDSS GOC Booklet
Proper scanned copy of GMDSS GOC Booklet and renewal needs to be attached.
Minimum 6 months of validity is required.
Maximum GMDSS CoC validity is 5 years or less in case your GMDSS GOC is expiring within 5 years.
